Like-minded to the Barnabas Way, Mission Increase Foundation shares our heart to see the effectiveness and impact of your organization grow.
For nearly a decade Mission Increase Foundation has been privileged to partner with Christian ministries like yours and see the Kingdom of God advancing in local communities around the country. As an operating foundation, their passion is to see lives transformed for Christ via their two primary objectives, namely, providing dynamic training and targeted grant-making to Christian nonprofit organizations.

Ultimately, we believe this merger will better enable us to partner with you as you seek to impact the city with the Gospel, only at much deeper levels!
We sincerely believe, and we've heard you say, that training has been among the most helpful services we've provided as a foundation. Looking through the lens of past training events and funding we believe that the Mission Increase model, built on the principles of Transformational Giving, is the best way for us to deliver higher quality training, materials, and resources, as well as create collaborative peer to peer learning environments to you…all at no cost to your ministry.
Bottom-line, after spending a considerable amount of time evaluating their model, their training material, and having extensive conversations with them, we are fully impressed with their focus and strategic vision. A merger will enable us as a foundation to go beyond merely providing matching grants to truly equipping ministries with tools and skills that are of highest value.

As a ministry leader we hope that you will experience a noticeable impact from the merger - for the good!
Mission Increase Foundation shares our vision for leveraging God's resources, and our multiplication strategy closely mirrors their matching grant model. However, we believe the training component, available to you whether you receive a grant or not, is the most valuable piece in this whole transition, such that grant-making becomes secondary. This is something we will be speaking to at greater length in the days ahead. That said, there will be some noticeable changes in the grant process. Let me speak to those below…

Grant eligibility will be based upon a ministry's active participation in local trainings as well as the application of the Transformational Giving principles. In addition, all grants will be awarded for the express purpose of integrating the concepts taught in local trainings after assessing an organization's assessed needs. For example, if we were to present training on hosting a Fundraising Banquet, it would be conceivable that the foundation would award matching grants for eligible ministries that we believe would most benefit from turning on this particular "stream of revenue." In other words, we would award a grant to a qualified ministry to match all funds raised at the event, up to a certain predetermined amount. We believe that this is a more strategic investment of our grant resources as it will create greater leverage for you in your fundraising efforts, and be a catalyst to stimulate other funding relative to projects and program expenses that God has called you to raise within the larger community.

As far as the calendar is concerned, we will no longer have formal grant deadlines, but will more intentionally pursue ministries that are poised for growth and are applying the Transformational Giving principles. We will thus be awarding fewer grants, of larger sizes, with a greater focus as to its intended impact.
So what does all that mean for you? First, our care for you and your ministry will not change. As well, we are intentionally working to create the highly relational culture you've become accustomed to at the foundation. In order to stay current on the changes and their implications for you, we would invite you to consider attending our upcoming training events, continue to interact with the foundation, and we'll walk through this process together in the coming year.
Please Note: If you have a 2009 grant that you are still working on raising the matching funds for, these changes will not impact your grant award or the process to complete it.

This communication is the first of many steps in our journey together as we transition from The Barnabas Way to Mission Increase Raleigh.
We are working with our branding firm Matchstic to facilitate a smooth transition for all of us - ministries, foundation partners, and our respective boards. Again, in keeping with our culture, we want this process to be highly relational and will thus continue to communicate news of these changes to you over the next couple of months. But please also feel free to send us an email or give us a call at the office if you have any questions that we can address for you. We hope you'll join us as we celebrate what God is doing to advance His Kingdom here in Raleigh.
